The pink berries are native to Central America. The Incas used them to heal wounds. They are known by other names: aroeira, christmas berry, pink pepper ... It was only in the 1970s that a French importer of exotic products amplified their consumption until their use in perfumery ("Pleasures from Estée Lauder in 1995). Currently, Peru is the largest producer but the best quality comes from Madagascar or the island of Réunion.


From the Anacardiaceae family (shrubs like pistachio), its fruits form berries of a bright red. For all its flavors to emerge, the pink berries must be in grain and be crushed at the last moment. They can't be cooked except in foil. The pink berries have a nice and sweet flavor and then reveal delicate notes of camphor. Pink berries are used in some of our pepper and herb mixes.

These pink berries ideally go with your fish, white meats and marinades and bring freshness and color to your vinaigrettes
