Latin name: Anethum

A TOUCH OF HISTORY,

Dill is native to the Mediterranean Basin and Central Asia. It's an aromatic spice-herb that's been known for its medicinal properties and its perfume for 5000 years. Like mint and caraway, people had to pay a dime for this herb. Romans considered it a source of vitality and used it in the gladiator's dishes. The Scandinavians have labeled it the national spice, present in particular in their "aquavit" (brandy). Its Latin name "anêthon" means anise, dill thus has several names: fake anise, stinky fennel, bastard fennel ... This herb is nowadays used all year round.
