Thymol organic thyme de Provence is a variety that has a scent of mint and eucalyptus. Our French classic.

This spice can stand cooking, it goes very well with garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, bay leaf, parsley, rosemary and oregano.




Latin name: Thymus


Thyme is native to southern Europe (especially the scrubland, a typical Mediterranean area, arid and mountainous). This spice was once a symbol of courage and energy (the Romans took baths filled with thyme before going to war). Its Greek name "thio" means "I perfume". This herb was used to add flavor to liqueurs. In France, the "Benedictine" monks were the first one to have used thyme for its medicinal properties. This herb has several names: serpolet, farigoule ... It is nowadays used for its medicinal and aromatic properties.


We eat the leaves (fresh or dried) of this aromatic spice. Lemon thyme has a special smell and a slightly bitter and spicy taste. It can handle being cooked and goes very well with garlic, olive oil, bay leaf, balsamic vinegar, parsley, rosemary and oregano. Thyme is a part of Herbes de Provence mix and the Bouquet Garni mix.

This aromatic plant will embelish your salty dishes, such as fish, stews, grilled meats, poultry, southern vegetables, spring salads, wine based sauces ... In addition, its  lemony side will give a great scent to you jams, cakes, fruit salads, compotes and ice cream ...
